An Irvine man who raised over £1,500 for the NHS after walking 23 miles round his garden as part of the Virtual Kiltwalk last year is taking on a new challenge, this time for a cause close to his heart. On April 24, Colin Nisbet will walk 26 miles from Wemyss Bay harbour to his home in Irvine for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland after his dad unfortunately took a heart attack around seven weeks ago. Thankfully, Colin’s dad is recovering well but his son says that if it wasn’t for the quick-thinking ambulance staff and support he received thereafter, he is not sure where he would be today.
