Francisco Mejia s tiebreaking, two-run single in Tampa Bay s seven-run 11th inning Monday afternoon boosted the Rays to their major-league-best 11th straight win, 14-8 over the host Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin, Fla.
A late-game substitution, Mejia lined a single off Joel Payamps (0-2) in his first at-bat to score Mike Brosseau and Taylor Walls, breaking a 7-7 tie. Randy Arozarena s double and Austin Meadows fielder s choice delivered RBIs against Tim Mayza.
Manuel Margot (three RBIs) added a two-run double and Brosseau singled in another in the five-hit frame to help finish off the four-game series sweep.

COLORADO SPRINGS â Starting Monday, May 24, the largest statewide seat belt enforcement period will take place.
The
Click It or Ticket campaign will run through Sunday, June 6. The campaign comes in advance of the â100 deadly days of summer,â which historically marks an increase in traffic fatalities between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Statewide, Coloradoâs seat belt use is 86%, which is 4% lower than the national average of 90%. To date in 2021, there have been 193 deaths on Colorado roadways, a 12% increase compared to this time last year. In 2020, traffic fatalities were up three percent despite far fewer people on the road,â said CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew. âMore than half of those lost on our roads were not wearing their seat belts. We know that seat belts save lives and we implore Coloradans to make the safe choice and buckle up

COLORADO SPRINGS â Residents in Mountain Shadows are again taking action against a controversial redevelopment project.
A proposed zoning change would allow developers to add over 400 apartments to the site currently home to a massive office building at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road.
Neighbors in Mountain Shadows arenât mincing words
âTheyâre on a free for all with all these developers,â Mountain Shadows resident Roxanne Dunn said. âWeâre just trying to get recognition that weâve had enough.â

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Taylor Widener left Sunday s game in the bottom of the second inning with an apparent injury.
Widener was on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain and was reinstated to start Sunday s game against the Colorado Rockies but left after Trevor Story s run-scoring single in the second.
The right-hander loaded the base in the first inning on a walk and two hit batters but worked out of the jam. A walk, error and Story s single in the second gave Colorado a 1-0 lead.
