SALEM Republican city residents have until Tuesday to submit themselves for consideration for a now vacant At Large city council seat.
“All we want is somebody who’s interested in the well-being of Salem and wants to take an active role in managing the city affairs,” Columbiana County Republican Party Chairman David Johnson said.
Johnson serves on the county Republican Central Committee as a Salem Precinct Committee member.
He has scheduled a public meeting for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Golf Club for the Salem Republican Precinct Committee members to interview candidates for the At Large post, deliberate and then vote on the new council member who will fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Roy Paparodis.
