MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (
WBZ NewsRadio) Fourth grade teacher Allyssa Beird of Middleborough made history Sunday night when she competed in the first ever American Ninja Warrior Women’s Championship.
Beird has competed in every season of American Ninja Warrior since 2016.
When she joined Season 8 in 2016, she secured the 30th spot at the city qualifier, leading her to the “Fantastic Four.
In Season 9, she was the first female of the season to hit the buzzer at the Cleveland City Qualifier.
She told WBZ NewsRadio s Matt Shearer that her students are aware that she is a ninja warrior.
In the classroom, she tries to incorporate some aspects of the show like the buzzer.

TROY Troy High School graduate and former resident Lynsey Mukomel grew up knowing one thing for certain: She wanted to spend her career in the news industry.
“When I graduated from college, I very much intended to be in news my entire career. Ever since I was a little kid, I was part of the Bemis Bears broadcasting crew in elementary school. I just always really had a passion for it, and knew that from a young age that’s what was really driving me and what I was motivated to do.”

The link between science and art may not be obvious to some. But for three Northwestern University scientists, the connection between the two is innate.
Beginning this weekend, professors Aaron Packman and Daniel E. Horton and molecular biosciences Ph.D. candidate Luis Schachner will explore this connection at different exhibits around Chicago.
Packman and Horton were among 14 artists and scientists brought together as a part of an art exhibition opening at the Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods, “Third Coast Disrupted: Artists + Scientists on Climate.” The exhibition culminates a yearlong conversation between scientists and artists that centered on impacts and solutions to climate change in the Chicago region.
