Coronado High School’s basketball division regional championship was revoked Wednesday and the school has been placed on probation by the statewide California Interscholastic Federation in the wake of a tortilla throwing incident after the June 19 game against Escondido’s Orange Glen High School.

Coronado High’s athletic program also will be on probation until 2024 and its boys basketball team was stripped of its chances to hold postseason games until 2023.

The game at Coronado was a great game. Both teams had a chance to win in overtime, with Coronado winning on a last second buzzer beater.
