With the pandemic s second wave diminishing, 11,042 new cases were reported in Karnataka, with 194 individuals succumbing to the infection in a single day. Bengaluru remains the epicentre of the pandemic in the state, with a positivity rate of 6.58 percent.
Malls and shops in Pune will be open from Monday till 7 pm. Hotels, restaurants, and eateries can also function till 10 pm for dine-in with 50 per cent seating capacity by adhering to social-distancing norms.

Bhubaneswar: May 31: Odisha reported 8,735 fresh Covid Positive cases in last 24 hours. Of this, 4892 people were in quarantine and rest 3,843 are local contact cases. Out of 8,735 cases reported, 1222 cases are only from Khurda District. Also, as informed by I & PR Department, 673 cases were found from Cuttack, 566 from Balasore, 507 from Jajpur, 503 from Dhenkanal, 467 from Puri, 456 from Angul, 387 from Kendrapara, 382 from Jagatsinghpur, 342 from Mayurbhanj, 285 from Nayagarh, 264 from Nawarangpur, 255 from Koraput, 244 from Sundergarh, 193 from Bargarh, 179 from Keonjhar, 177 each from Kalahandi & Sambalpur, 156 each from Ganjam & Sonepur, 147 from Bhadrak, 137 from Boudh, 157 from Jharsuguda, 96 from Malkangiri, 90 from Rayagada, 80 from Gajapati,65 from Kandhamal, 63 from Deogarh, 49 from Bolangir and 40 from Nuapada.
In the first 15 days of May, India reported 58,431 deaths at a CFR of 1.06 per cent. However, in the next 14 days (May 16-29), the country lost 55,688 citizens at a CFR of 1.73 per cent, health ministry data show.
