Black Works Studio Hyena Shipping Next Month
Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) has announced its newest cigar Hyena will begin shipping to stores next month.
It’s yet another cigar that will follow a recent trend of Nicaraguan manufacturers working with African Cameroon wrapper, something that isn’t historically a commonplace combination. underneath the Cameroon wrapper is a Nicaraguan habano binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
It will be offered in two sizes:
Black Works Studio Corona Gorda (5 x 46) $12 (Box fo 20, $240)
Black Works Studio Lonsdale (6 1/2 x 42) $12.50 (Box of 20, $250)
Production is limited to 700 boxes of each size, both of which have a rabito cap, a shape that looks like a nipple. The company says it will be offered to stores in the U.S. and Europe.

Visually, the Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Corona Gorda is covered in a dark brown wrapper that has a bit of tooth, but very few overt veins or signs of oil. On this particular vitola the two bands take up more than half of the available real estate of the cigar and it is nicely spongy when squeezed. Aroma from the wrapper is a combination of sweet hay, milk chocolate, sweet cedar, manure, leather, barnyard, earth and honey, while the cold draw brings flavors of strong floral and dark chocolate, along with espresso beans, hay, leather, bread, white pepper, cedar and a distinct candied pecan sweetness.
Aganorsa Releasing Supreme Leaf & Rare Leaf In Early 2021
Aganorsa has announced two new releases for early 2021. The first being the latest expression of their Signature taste: Rare Leaf Reserve. Utilizing select lots from their best farms that produce low yields of leaf unique in both flavor and aroma, Rare Leaf Reserve is made entirely of Aganorsa tobacco. A café cover leaf from Jalapa envelops a double binder and filler tobaccos of predominantly Criollo 98 with a just touch of Corojo 99.

Aganorsa Leaf is about to release a new line of cigars called Rare Leaf Reserve, smokes rolled with rare tobaccos that the company grows in in small quantities. The new line is expected to ship to retailers in February.
The Rare Leaf Reserve line was created to make a regular production line of cigars made from low-yield tobaccos grown on specific farms owned by Aganorsa. The cigars are Nicaraguan
puros, which consist of a wrapper grown in Jalapa, a pair of Criollo ‘98 binders from two different farms in Estelí and a filler blend that is predominantly Criollo ’98, with a little Corojo ’99 also added to the mix.

As with the first two sizes, it’s a Nicaraguan puro made at the company’s Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
“Demand for Supreme Leaf continues to grow,” said Terence Reilly, vp of sales and marketing for AGANORSA Leaf, in a press release. “We heard a lot of requests for the next size to be under a 50 ring gauge so we listened and decided on a 6×46, a vitola that just so happens to be my personal favorite as well.”
