Jones & Willis - Hornsey Art Metalworkers to the Queen Posted by Hugh on January 20, 2018 at 18:38 in History of Harringay Looking earlier at an old picture of the Great Northern Railway Tavern on Hornsey High Street, I noticed that the sign to the east of the pub carries the name of Jones & Willis in place of Smithfield Refrigerator Works. You can see the photo here. I hadn t heard of this company before so I dug around a little and found enough to satisfy my curiosity. The business, originally Newton, Jones & Willis, was active from the 1840s until the 1930s. and became one of the largest church furnishers in Britain. Apparently they were also Church Furnishers to the Queen .
