New Zealand-owned First Mortgage Trust is celebrating its 25 year anniversary with the announcement it has been judged the best New Zealand Non-Bank of the Year. This award comes on the back of last year s achievement, when the trust reported it had more than $1 billion of investor funds under management, a figure which firmly cemented it as the largest non-bank first mortgage provider in New Zealand.
Chief executive officer Tony Kinzett said he was delighted with the February announcement from NZ Advisor, giving particular credit for the award to his hard-working team who are based in offices across the country.

ARBIL: Pope Francis vowed Sunday to keep Iraq in his heart, as he concluded the largest mass and final public event of a historic trip meant to encourage the country´s dwindling Christian community and deepen interfaith dialogue.
The pontiff celebrated among thousands of smiling worshippers in a sports stadium in the Kurdistan region´s capital Arbil, after visiting Christian survivors of the Islamic State group´s reign of terror. The 84-year-old was driven in his white, windowless pope-mobile into the stadium, where jubilant worshippers sat socially distanced on white chairs spread out on the greens.

A national advice group has revealed it is closing in on gender parity across its senior leadership roles, a change it says has improved outcomes for clients and staff.

Darren Steinhardt, managing director of Queensland headquartered dealer group Infocus, said the group had achieved a 48:52 female to male split across its national team of around 100 staff, with “many senior roles across all functions including technology, investment, strategy, and operations being led by women”.
Mr Steinhardt said the days of women being employed in primarily support or service roles within advice businesses were “mostly a bygone era” and “for clients and colleagues alike, the change is for the better”.
