A PASSERBY had a shock when he came into contact with a mysterious species of spider. Samuel Edgar was walking under a bridge in Barrow when he stumbled on the scary spider not thought to be native to the UK. He said he thought the spider, which has a large body and tarantula-like fangs, was a foreign species and must have been a pet. The two-inch long arachnid was seen dead on Marsh Street under the Greengate Street. Scared of the creature, Mr Edgar gave it a quick inspection before kicking into a drain. He said a goo that came out of the creature proved it was real.
