Little Canada brings full-sized fun in miniature
TORONTO, July 27, 2021 /CNW/ - Toronto s newest big attraction, Little Canada, is opening its doors at long last; giants and little ones alike can satisfy their wanderlust by visiting Canada s striking landscapes and intricate landmarks by simply heading to downtown Toronto.
The highly detailed and immersive miniature attraction offers spectacular scenery, enveloping soundscapes, animated features, and moving cars, trains, and boats that all operate on a 15-minute day cycle; upon sunset thousands of tiny lights illuminate the display. A journey 10 years in the making, the attraction will open to the public August 5 at 10 Dundas East across from Yonge and Dundas Square.
TORONTO A new exhibit in Toronto features miniature landmarks and skylines from across Canada in a unique homage to the country. Dubbed Little Canada, Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer told CTV National News the idea for the animated mini replica of the nation’s familiar sites came from displays he’d seen while growing up in Europe. The founder and president of Little Canada says he’s also loved model trains since he was 12 years old. Anything that s miniature, I just grew a passion for, Brenninkmeijer said. Brenninkmeijer and his team of 50 model makers have essentially built a $24 million train set that switches from day to night with state-of-the-art LED lighting.
Little Canada, a new attraction opening across from Dundas Square in 2021, announced a Little Me Experience this week.
Although the attraction, offering a miniature version of Canada, is not yet open, it s offering people the chance to get life-like miniatures when it is finally safe to do so.
Guests can go inside the Littlization Station to get an image for a mini-figurine.
The Little Me Experience offers visitors the opportunity to step inside a Littlization Station, where 128 cameras will take an instantaneous photo of you.
The image is used to create two miniatures one Little Me to keep and another that will be placed inside the Little Canada miniature attraction. The customer can choose the location there will be five destinations including Little Niagara, Little Toronto, Petit Quebec and Little North.
