Trendsetters: The baked goods and snacks that will shine in 2021
What s in store for 2021? Pic: GettyImages/CharlieAJA As the pandemic continues to upend life, the products that will stand out next year will be those that address the consumer’s need for comfort, immunity and mental health, according to Saage Insights 2021 Trend Report.
The predictions were drawn from the New York consumer insights agency’s inhouse knowledge and qualitative studies, including digital ethnographic interviews, conducted with US consumers throughout 2020.
Trend 1: Bringing life into your space
With consumers preparing for a winter and early spring indoors, attention remains focused on optimising homes and bringing the outside world in, physically and virtually.

After a slight delay in their arrival this holiday season, Little Debbie Christmas Cakes became something of a social media sensation. That’s when Jamie Williams, the “director of mixology” at Ed’s Seafood Shed on Mobile Bay, decided that the tree-shaped, white-frosted miniature yellow cake would make a perfect topper for a Christmas-themed bushwacker.

Another COVID-safe event is coming your way. The 13th Annual Reel Fun Ice Fishing will be held on Feb. 20, 2021 at Grand Lake. The top prize is $5,000 a nice catch for sure.

A COVID-safe kick off event will be held at Duck Park Feb. 19, the evening before Reel Fun. It’s a winter picnic!
Ticket holders can purchase a $5 ticket for a paper bag lunch which includes a choice of a Nowicki’s brat or a burger together with chips from Frito-Lay, a Little Debbie cookie, condiments and soda or water.
