The psych-pop singer announced the new show on social media with a characteristically cryptic teaser video, pitch-bending his voice over an abstract image collage.
“It’s more than a show, ’cause it might just blow your mind. It’ll be scary, it’ll be fun. We will emerge as one. Let’s hope we emerge at all,” VanWyndgarden said.
The band’s last full-length album ‘Little Dark Age‘ was released in 2018.

Synth-pop band MGMT has been selling out stadiums for the better half of two decades with hits like Kids and Electric Feel. But did you know that band members Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden got their start when they met at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., 2002?
In a
2010 interview with ABC News, Goldwasser said that the two lived in the same dorm together and formed the band at the end of their freshman year.
His wife Jasmine confirmed that he passed away on October 31, 2020. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
