The Flagler Palm Coast High School Thespians are taking on one of Broadway’s most ambitious productions: Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning classic “Into the Woods.” Intertwining timeless storybook characters and iconic music, the production takes audiences on an enchanting and sometimes dark look into human connections and the importance of family in tumultuous times. Featuring some of the high school’s most talented performers, the full-length, fully staged performance runs from May 13 to May 15.
Show times are at 7 p.m. May 13 and 14 and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 15.
Eddie Redmayne is to star in a West End production of Cabaret
The Theory of Everything actor will take on the role of the EmCee - which he first played in an amateur production at the Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2001 when he was just 19 - in a new version of the musical, which will begin performances at London s Playhouse Theatre in November, the Daily Mail newspaper s Baz Bamigboye reports 10 May 2021
Jessie Buckley is also expected to star in the production as Sally Bowles.
Both stars have extensive stage experience, with Eddie scooping an Olivier award for his work in RED , and later a Tony Award for the same production when he took the role to Broadway in 2010.

DANBURY, CT - Western Connecticut State University s production of William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, directed and adapted by Theatre Chair Pamela McDaniel, premiered on Friday. This is the second installment in the theatre department s Spring Virtual Production Series that runs through May 9.
A Midsummer Night s Dream belongs to the early-middle period of Shakespeare s work, full of poetry in the lines he wrote, creating almost a musical without music. This wildly popular play is frequently adapted today. NewArts, the performing arts wing of the 1214 Foundation, produced an original musical based upon the play entitled A ROCKIN Midsummer Night s Dream with music by Eric Svejcar. Both casts of the Newtown-area young performers went on to record the original cast album with Broadway Records.
