$5.5M construction/renovation project underway at Bi-Con

DERWENT An estimated $5.5 million construction and renovation project is underway at Bi-Con Service s campus on Clay Pike Road in Derwent.
Crews are relocating utility lines to pave the way for a new two-story, 15,000-square-foot office building behind the current building. The project will also include renovations to the current two-story building with similar square footage.
The two buildings will be joined by a 9,000-foot atrium-style connector. The new addition will add nearly 90 new offices and numerous conference areas and collaborative working spaces, said Bi-Con President Denny Patterson. The second phase of construction will include modernizing the existing work areas.
ROUTE 17 CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR IN CAROLINE COUNTY

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Starting at approximately 7 p.m. this evening, Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) in Caroline County will be closed to through traffic between Route 2 and Route 301 for motorist safety due to the failure of an adjacent slope and a drainage pipe underneath the road.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are installing detour signs and message boards to direct traffic along the recommended detour route.
Plans for an emergency repair are underway, but a reopening date is not immediately available.
