Nine reveals 25 May air date for Weakest Link revival May 17, 2021 3:47 The new iteration of game show Weakest Link will return to Australian television on 25 May, airing on Channel Nine and 9Now at 9:00pm. Szubanski will take the helm of the reimagined Weakest Link, putting contestants up against once another, with a cash jackpot of up to $250,000 for the winner. Each episode will see eight contestants enter the Weakest link studio, taking turns to work together towards the maximum cash prize. Questions are general knowledge, and as a team, they build chains of correct answers to increase the jackpot. ADVERTISEMENT Incorrect answers, meanwhile, break the chain and decrease the money available, and contestants vote to eliminate the ‘weakest link’ at the end of each round.

Magda Szubanski will debut as host of The Weakest Link on Nine on Tuesday May 4th. The show will debut at 8:50pm following Lego Masters. Filming began this week at Docklands Studios in Melbourne, on a huge set, produced by BBC Studios Australia. TV Tonight, follows from a successful return of the format in the US with Jane Lynch. Nine plans to screen the series weekly, although it isn’t clear for how many weeks as yet. BBC Studio’s ANZ Director of Production Kylie Washington, said: “We are delighted to reintroduce Australians to this fast, fun and addictive show which is a pop cultural phenomenon.
