Mzuzu Volleyball International Tournament on from July 30

Malawi’s northern city of Mzuzu will host a volleyball international tournament from July 30 to August 1, 2021. The tournament will specifically take place at Katoto Open Court with volleyball clubs from Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi involved. Mbeya Best XI from Tanzania, Chalube Volleyball Club and Nkhwazi Volleyball Club from Zambia will be in Mzuzu to tussle with Malawian volleyball teams in this historic volleyball international tournament. Mhango renews NRVL sponsorship

The Northern Region Volleyball League (NRVL) is all smiles after an announcement by Jappie Mtuwa Mhango to renew the league’s sponsorship to the tune of K 2 million. Mhango has been sponsoring the league since 2004 and Vice General Secretary for the league, Chifundo Zingunde, told Nyasa Times that preparations for this season are at an advanced stage as over 15 teams have already expressed interest to register. Minister Mhango : New sponsor “The league will continue to be called Jappie Mhango Northern Region Volleyball League. “As NRVL, we believe this financial support is a sign of trust in the executive, and the committee will ensure that volleyball is developed to best standards and results will act as a golden appreciation to the sponsor,” said Zingunde.

Analysts accuse volleyball, netball associations of Malawi of sleeping on duty

Officials from the Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) and Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) have been accused of sleeping on duty, arguing that disciplines like volleyball and netball could be the first to start ahead of football.
