ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has constituted six regular benches at the principal seat Islamabad to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday.
The first bench is comprised of Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi while the second bench is comprised of Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Amin-Ud-Din Khan.
The third bench is comprised of Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar. Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Yahya Afridi will be members of the fourth bench, while the fifth bench will consist of Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar.

PESHAWAR: The long-delayed proposed law on domestic violence against women was passed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday declaring the abuse of women by family members an offence punishable with one-five years imprisonment along with fine.
Social welfare minister Hisham Inamullah Khan presented the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Domestic Violence against Women (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2021, in the house for approval.
Under the bill, domestic violence against women includes economic, psychological and physical abuses.
KP CM orders concrete steps to save youth from narcotics use

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department to take concrete measures to discourage the use of narcotics to protect youth from drug addiction.
The chief minister issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department to review the progress and other reforms initiatives undertaken by the department, said an official handout.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Excise Ghazan Jamal, Secretary Excise Islam Zeb, Director General Excise Fayyaz Ali Shah and others attended the meeting.
