South African clubs will not use neutral venues - Safa writes to Caf

Following the resumption of football in the country for both international and domestic activities, we have never had a surge in the number of infections due to the strict health protocols in place that are in line with Caf Covid-19 health protocols. All our clubs/national teams will not use neutral venues, as there are no substantial health reasons to do so. We request that Caf should provide us with any breach of their Covid-19 health protocols by both Clubs and National Teams. We request that Caf provide us with any research conducted regarding our Covid-19 situation in South Africa that would warrant alternatives at this stage as all countries have Covid-19 cases with Morocco being second on the continent behind South Africa.

Kaizer Motaung reflects on Kaizer Chiefs failed 50th anniversary plans

Jan 7, 2021 - 10:30 am By Staff Reporter Kaizer Chiefs founder and chairman Kaizer Motaung has reflected on the club s 51st anniversary and opened up on their failure to clinch the Premiership title last season. Today marks 51 years since the formation of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, which has grown in leaps and bounds both on and off the field during this period. As the most successful club in South Africa, having tallied 93 domestic cups to date, Amakhosi s history speaks volumes of the club s pedigree and impact on local football. Reflecting on another year, Motaung acknowledged the disappointing manner in which its 50th anniversary ended on the final day of the 2019/20 season but also had renewed optimism that they will end their dreaded longest trophy drought in the club s history.
