The Texas Longhorns men s basketball team has seen a major makeover this offseason, and the pundits are beginning to take notice.
On Thursday, Stadium college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman updated his way-too-early preseason top-25 rankings, with the Texas Longhorns and new head coach Chris Beard now sitting with the No. 10 overall ranking I’m betting on Chris Beard and his staff, Goodman said of the Longhorns. He still has to add more pieces to the roster, but he’s already brought on four impact transfers and will bring back Jones and Ramey. They’ll be more.
The Longhorns began their makeover following their early exit from the NCAA tournament when they moved on from former head coach Shaka Smart and hired beard to replace him.

Texas Longhorns guard Matt Coleman has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft, as the school announced that he’ll hire an agent and turn professional instead of returning for a fifth season and playing for new head coach Chris Beard.
The Forty Acres and beyond could have seen the news coming. Coleman joins Texas forward Kai Jones in taking their chances at the professional level.
During the 2020-2021 season, Coleman averaged 13.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and had a 48.5 percent rate shooting from the field. Among the highlights towards the end of Coleman’s senior season were his clutch, game-winning free throws against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals. Not to mention the career-high 30 points against Tech, in which Coleman went 10-for-14 shooting and nearly perfect from the three-point line, going 4-of-5. Coleman also posted

As the NBA trade deadline moves more into the rearview, the talk of the offseason, more specifically the draft, is growing louder for the Toronto Raptors.
With Norman Powell departing at the trade deadline and Lowry sticking around for the remainder of this season, the team is set for the final stretch of the season. However, a 1-13 month of March and with many top players resting like Lowry, Fred VanVleet, and Pascal Siakam, many in Raptors nation are looking to the offseason.
Currently, Toronto is projected to select at No. 10 in the upcoming draft, so we decided to look at who the Raptors may choose at that spot.

New Texas Longhorns head basketball coach Chris Beard managed another big win in terms of re-building the roster on Tuesday afternoon when coveted transfer point guard Devin Askew committed to the program. After exploring the different universities, I m excited to attend the University of Texas, Askew told Branham. Thank you to coach [Chris] Beard and the coaching staff! I can’t wait to get started!
Askew lands in Austin just a week after entering the transfer portal, leaving John Calipari and Kentucky after a disappointing season, in which the Wildcats went 9-16, finished 8th in the SEC, and missed the NCAA tournament.
