After securing a pair of top-tier transfers on Tuesday, Chris Beard has now landed his first signature for the program, in former Texas Tech Pledge Jaylon Tyson, who officially signed his Athletic Scholarship Agreement with the school on Wednesday.
Tyson originally committed to Beard and the Longhorns last week, after de-committing from Texas Tech following the departure of the Coach to Austin. I want to thank Texas Tech University and Everyone in association with the men s basketball program for your support, Tyson said in the statement.

New Texas Longhorns head coach Chris Beard has continued his impressive streak of rebuilding the Texas Longhorns basketball roster, landing a commitment from Utah Utes standout Timmy Allen.
Allen announced his decision via his Twitter account, becoming the second impressive transfer to land in Austin on Tuesday after Kentucky s Devin Askew.
One of the top players available in the NCAA Transfer Portal, Allen was named First-Team All Pac-12 last season, after averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 35 minutes per game last season.

New Texas Longhorns head basketball coach Chris Beard managed another big win in terms of re-building the roster on Tuesday afternoon when coveted transfer point guard Devin Askew committed to the program. Askew lands in Austin just a week after entering the transfer portal, leaving John Calipari and Kentucky after a disappointing season, in which the Wildcats went 9-16, finished 8th in the SEC, and missed the NCAA tournament.
