Have you ever had an analog astronaut, an oceanographer or a ghost hunting team speak candidly from the comfort of your own living room? Celebrate Innovation Live, hosted annually by DMACC, may be a virtual experience for 2021 but there’s nothing wrong with claiming the best seat in the living room to watch 10 keynote speakers this month. Below, the Business Record had a chance to speak with three speakers – Sian Proctor, Kyle Hill and Kai Kight – and get a taste of what DMACC students and members of the public alike will hear this month.

Can music be a metaphor for life? Musician Kai Kight thinks it can.
Kight is a classical violinist and composer who uses his music to inspire audiences for self-realization.
Kight brings his performance and talk to DMACC Westâs ciLive (Celebrate Innovation) event. In itâs 12th year, this yearâs theme is âAmplifiedâ and focuses on innovation and amplifying imagination and inspiration. Kight will be performing and speaking at this free event on March 10-11, which is virtual and open to the public.
Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) will be holding its 12th annual Celebrate! Innovation series virtually this year on March 10 and March 11, and have recently announced the scheduled speakers. With a theme of “Amplified,” the nine speakers were introduced first through a special video, a link to which is included below, and feature a NASA analog astronaut, an oceanographer and deep-water explorer, a top wilderness survivalist and History Channel star, a classical violinist turned innovative composer, world-renowned primatologist and wildlife correspondent for the National Geographic Channel, ghost hunters featured on the Discovery Network and more. “We’re thrilled to continue Celebrate!
