Antigo Bakery owners Mike and Sheila Pavek, longtime donors to the local Salvation Army kettle campaign, found a creative way to leverage their donation during a year when bell ringers won’t be ringing. In recent years, Antigo Bakery has donated cookie dough baked on the street during the chili cookoff and parade, which resulted in more than $600 of donations annually to the local campaign. This year, Paveks are offering $300 to be matched by customer donations to hopefully raise even more money for local needs. Customer Larry Ehlert was lucky to get one of the first green and gold buttons in exchange for his $25 donation to the 2020 campaign that will be matched by Antigo Bakery.
