PEORIA Two minors were arrested here this week in connection with the death of a Peoria teen during a botched robbery last month at a gun store in Galesburg.
One of the teens, 17, was arrested on Tuesday, while the other, 15, was arrested on Thursday. Both were initially taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center, according to Peoria police spokeswoman Amy Dotson.
Galesburg police Chief Russ Idle said the teens are facing charges of burglary and first-degree murder in connection with the Jan. 6 incident at Galesburg Guns and Ammo.
The boys are charged under the state s felony murder provision, which holds that they are legally responsible for 17-year-old Daryl Keller s death even though they didn t shoot him.

Dominick Booker is facing felony murder and burglary charges after being arrested last night, along with Jakobe Brown who was already in custody. The two suspects in this case made their first appearance in Knox County Court this afternoon.
It all started after 10 P.M. Wednesday night, when police say four to five men broke into Galesburg Guns, Gear & Ammo. The owner was inside at the time, and police say he fired several shots at the group.
GALESBURG A 17-year-old from Peoria died Wednesday following a gunshot wound, according to Galesburg police.
A Peoria man, 18, is now in custody, arrested on burglary and felony murder charges connected to the case, though he was not arrested on suspicion of being the trigger man.
After a call at 10:22 p.m., police responded to Galesburg Guns and Ammo on South Henderson Street on Wednesday in response to a disturbance there involving gunshots. When officers arrived, they determined that several suspects had broken into the business.
Police Chief Russ Idle said they used a large rock or cinder block to break in and that investigation has shown there were four or five individuals attempting the burglary.
