Galesburg teen on scooter hit by truck Talbot Fisher GALESBURG A Galesburg teenager on a scooter was struck by a vehicle and injured Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to the accident at 12:05 p.m. at the intersection of Knox and Academy streets, where they found a 16-year-old male was being rendered aid by GHAS and the Galesburg Fire Department. His legs were bleeding and he was unable to move his left leg. The driver of the pickup that struck the teen told officers he was already in the intersection, driving southbound on Academy Street when the teen, riding a scooter, ran the stop sign on Knox Street and entered the intersection. He said there was nothing he could do in time to stop from striking the teen.
