KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Family Health Center will administer over 400 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to community members during a drive-through clinic at Kalamazoo Central High School Wednesday.
It runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Family Health Center is currently vaccinating eligible adults, 65 and older, and those 50 and older with pre-existing conditions along with others who qualify in various job fields.

GREENWOOD LAKE, NY New York Yankees great Derek Jeter, a 1992 Kalamazoo Central High School graduate, has lowered the asking price on his family “castle” in New York.
The home of the MLB Hall of Famer was reduced in price by $2 million from the original asking price of $14.75 million in 2018, the release said. The home is known locally as “the Castle” and was originally built in 1903. The estate actually features two castles the master castle with a connected tower, and guest castle.
Encompassing 12,590 square feet of living space, the Jeter compound includes four indoor kitchens, one outside kitchen and extra-large infinity-edged pool. The home has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, five half baths, a great room, multiple stone fireplaces, dens, a game room, sun room, formal dining room, office, gym and family room with a bar, the release said. Family Health Center is currently vaccinating eligible adults, 65 years and older. Some people ages 50-64 are eligible for the clinic, including those with pre-existing conditions, or caregivers for those with compromised immune systems, K-12 school workers, caregivers, agricultural workers and food processors, Family Health Center said in a news release.

KALAMAZOO, MI – Michael Coats says his child was a straight-A student before the coronavirus pandemic.
But now, as Kalamazoo Public Schools continues online-only learning for almost a year, Coats has watched his straight-A student’s grades drop dramatically, he said.
“The reality is, the lack of in-person education and a lack of socialization is having a devastating effect on our children,” Coats said during public comment of a Feb. 25 Kalamazoo school board meeting.
