West Michigan road crews gear up for winter storm, report minimal impact from pandemic

With a wintry mix headed to West Michigan, road commissions throughout the region worked around the clock to keep people safe on the roads.
Officials with the Allegan County Road Commission, the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County, Ottawa County, the city of Kalamazoo Public Services, and the city of Portage said Tuesday they were closely monitoring the inclement weather, and were ready for anything Mother Nature delivers.
Managers at most road commissions in the region, including the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County and the Allegan County Road Commission said they were fortunate to avoid most COVID-19 issues, but not all of them.
