KALAMAZOO, MI A 45-year-old man was wounded in the chest when a teen family member threw two knives at him, police said.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded about 11:15 a.m. to a residence in the 1300 block of California Avenue on a report of a stabbing.
They arrived to find the 45-year-old man with a non-life-threatening chest wound.
He told officers a 14-year-old male family member threw two knives at him. One missed him but the other struck him in the chest.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. â Kalamazoo police responded to reports of a stabbing on California Avenue this morning, according to Kalamazoo Public Safety.
Weâre told police found a 45-year-old male with a stab wound in the chest when they arrived.
Police say the manâs wounds are non-life-threatening, adding that the victim claimed to have been hit after a pair of knives were thrown at him.
The suspect is a 14-year-old male Kalamazoo resident who was located some time later, authorities say. Weâre told he has been charged with felonious assault and is currently lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home.
