KIIFB has raised funds amounting to Rs 3016.57 crore from financial institutions till 2018 by issue of bonds which were to be repaid from petroleum cess and motor vehicle tax. An amount of Rs 2,150 crore raised through masala bonds in foreign countries is part of the Rs 3016.57 crore off-budget borrowings.

Kerala waives entertainment tax for movie theatres to revive sector

In a move to help the film industry in the state, the Kerala government on Monday decided to waive entertainment tax for cinemas from January to March 2021 along with 50 per cent reduction in the fixed charges on electricity during the lockdown period since March last year. The decision was taken after Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce officials met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here. The state government has decided to exempt cinema theatres from entertainment tax from January to March 2021.The government has also decided to reduce the fixed charges by 50 per cent, the chief minister s office said in a release.

The cold-chain points will be increased to 2000. Representational Image  |  Photo Credit: AP Key Highlights In the first phase, all health workers from private and government institutions, medical students, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and ICCS workers will get vaccinated. The drill will be conducted from 09:00 am to 11:00 am and around 25 health workers will participate in each centre. The mock drill will be conducted sticking to all procedures that will precede a real COVID-19 vaccination drive, including pre-registering of people.
