The glut-like situation is such that the cooperative procures more than three lakh litres of milk in excess of its average sale of around 12.5 lakh litres per day. Milk sales had plummeted because of the pandemic situation, but procurement had gone up significantly in the Malabar and Ernakulam regions, said chairman of the federation P.A. Balan on Sunday. Milma Chairman seeks vaccinations for its employees The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma) has urged the State government to administer the COVID-19 vaccine on a priority basis to Milma employees across the State, reports the Hindu. Over 3,000 employees are engaged in the procurement and processing of milk, a high-risk, but essential service that ensures uninterrupted supply of milk to millions of households in the State, Milma said in a statement on Wednesday.
