New Delhi:Â Bucking the trend of the state changing government’s every five years, the Left Democratic Front is on its way to staying in power for another term. The LDF is leading in 99 of the state’s 140 constituencies. The UDF is leading in 41 seats. The BJP has drawn a blank in the state.
The 2021 Kerala assembly election was a one-phase election held on April 6, 2021. The Kerala assembly has 140 seats â so a party or alliance needs to win 71 to form the government, a number the LDF seems to be comfortable crossing.

Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd (KRDCL), the special purpose vehicle for executing viable rail projects on cost-sharing basis with Railways, has evinced interest in executing the Angamali-Sabarimala rail project .
The move comes within three months of Kerala agreeing to the demand of Railways to bear 50% of the estimated ₹2,815.62 crore of the 116-km Angamaly-Azhutha Sabari Rail. The Cabinet had already decided to make available 50% of the estimate from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) to Railways.

Panchayat secretary told to submit report in four weeks
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed Naduvannur panchayat to take immediate steps to correct the dangerous curve on Puthiyapuram-Kottur road that opens into the Kuttiadi-Kozhikode State highway at Puthiyapuram.
The commission has served notice on the panchayat secretary asking for a report on possible solutions to the matter within four weeks.
Stakeholders keen to straighten curves in the corridor leading to Pullepady
A team of officials of the Kochi Corporation and the Kerala Road Fund Board (KRFB) inspected Thammanam Junction and the alignment beyond on Thursday as part of the project to widen the Thammanam-Pullepady road and extend it from either side to Chakkaraparambu on the NH Bypass and to Padma Junction on M.G. Road.
The detailed project report (DPR) for the initiative will be ready before June. It will then be forwarded to the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), following which a meeting will be held with MLAs representing Ernakulam and Thrikkakara.
