After having 11 players taken in the first three rounds of the NFL draft, the Pac-12 had 17 players selected on the final day of the draft on Saturday.
Stanford, USC and Oregon tied for the most Pac-12 players drafted with five apiece. It s probably no coincidence USC and Oregon played in the Pac-12 championship game while the Cardinal went 4-2, including 4-1 when Davis Mills played.
The 2021 NFL draft is being held Thursday through Saturday and every Carolina Panthers draft pick has been analyzed here.
After last season s virtual draft, Cleveland is played host to the festivities this year with a handful of potential draft picks present and socially distanced because of COVID-19.
Here s a pick-by-pick look at how each player Carolina has selected will fit.
Round 1, No. 8 overall: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
My take: The Panthers are so confident in quarterback Sam Darnold and believe they are so close to becoming a contender this season that they selected a player who could make the biggest impact on the roster, since Florida tight end Kyle Pitts and Oregon left tackle Penei Sewell were already gone. Carolina passed on quarterbacks Justin Fields and Mac Jones for a press corner, which was a huge missing piece last season. With injury-plagued Donte Jackson entering the final year of his rookie deal, look for Horn to step right in as a starter opposite Jac

Height, weight: 6-foot-1, 216 pounds.
His frame and play style in many ways resemble a smaller Isaiah Simmons.
22. Azeez Ojulari, edge rusher, Georgia
Height, weight: 6-foot-3, 240 pounds.
Ojulari’s frame and skillset makes him almost like a clone of Yannick Ngakoue.

Owusu-Koramoah starred as an athletic hybrid defender for the Fighting Irish. He can play Will linebacker, safety or even cover in the slot. He s very fluid and twitchy to mirror tight ends, backs or slot receivers. He s very aware as a zone dropper and he s an explosive blitzer off the edge. He is quick to key/read before dipping under blocks on the front side against the run. He flashes the ability to use his length

Going into Night One of the draft, the biggest question for UW fans was whether one of the talented defensive linemen would sneak into the back of the first round. DE Joe Tryon and DT Levi Onwuzurike were both rated as early second round picks by most draft experts, but with a premium on defensive linemen, it seemed possible that a team would want to grab one of them at the end of the first.
There was an uncharacteristic tension for the last few picks of the round. The Saints took Payton Turner from Houston at #28 to start a miniature run on defensive ends/edge rushers. Miami’s Greg Rousseau came off the board at #30 to Buffalo, and Jayson Oweh went from Penn State to Baltimore with the next pick.
