1/1 PLANNING chiefs are studying an application to turn part of a Southampton office block into a new facility for Solent University. Cambridge Education Group (CEG) is seeking consent to convert the first, second and third floors of Imperial House in Kings Park Road, Southampton. Imperial House is a four-storey office building in Kings Park Road, part of the Bedford Place Quarter. According to CEG the site is near several bus stops used by students at the university. It also boasts strong pedestrian links to the University Quarter, approximately 200 metres from Imperial House. The application concedes that the proposed conversion will result in the loss of office space but says the scheme will produce clear economic benefits .
