Camden Point woman dies in Platte County crash KSHB and last updated 2021-01-24 16:49:09-05 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 31-year-old woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Friday in Platte County. The Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:11 p.m. to a crash on 273 Highway near the intersection of 92 Highway Spur. A 2000 Ford Focus, traveling northbound, left 273 Highway, down an embankment and “then went airborne,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The driver, identified as Catherine Scarlett, of Camden Point, died at the scene. She was the only occupant. The sheriff’s office’s crash team still is investigating the crash.

The sheriff’s office and Weston police responded around 1:59 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire in the 600 block of Prospect Street in Weston. Timothy Darby, 60, of Weston, was found dead in the home, according to a news release. Detectives are speaking to a person of interest, the release stated. West, South and Central Platte fire departments assisted at the scene, along with Missouri State Fire Marshals, West Platte and NRAD ambulance services and the Camden Point and Dearborn fire departments.
