CFI, stakeholders unveil platform to boost agribusiness

An e-learning platform that would serve as an opportunity to leverage current technologies to educate farmers and agripreneurs across the value chains in the agricultural ecosystem has been launched in Lagos.
The platform is the brainchild of Corporate Farmers International (CFI) that partnered with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Kebbi State.
Prince Ade-Ajayi, Co-Founder of CFI, during the unveiling event of the e-learning platform on Friday in Lagos, said CIS and CFI in 2019 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on certification of trainees from the CFI e-Learning Academy to enhance value in the agriculture sector.

The Kebbi State Government has engaged the services of two additional consultants to hasten the process of training the 10,000 AGMIES loan applicants across the state.
Mallam Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser to Gov. Atiku Bagudu on Media, stated this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday.
Sarki said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Umar-Yauri, on behalf of the State Government, with two consulting firms, Alkali Hussaini Foundation and Research Center for Developing Economies (RECDE), in Birnin Kebbi.
NIGERIA – Spanish culinary products manufacturer GBfoods, having operations in Nigeria has inaugurated a N20 billion (US$51.9m) Tomato processing factory in Kebbi state, aimed to help the country achieve self-sufficiency in production of tomatoes and its related products.
Through its wide product range which include taste enhances, ready meals, soups, infusions, among other, GBfoods has earned itself a wide market share in Nigeria thanks to some of its notable brands like Gino tomato mix, Bama mayonnaise and Jango dairy products.
The N20 billion (US$51.9m) factory was established in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kebbi State Government and the Emirate of Yauri.

The Kebbi State Government has identified the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP), initiated by the Federal Government with support from the World Bank, as one of the best projects in the state.
Secretary to the Kebbi State Government (SSG) Alhaji Babale Yauri, stated this when received the National Coordinator of CSDP, Dr Abdulkarim Obaje, in Birnin Kebbi
Obaje was represented by Mr Niyi Oduneye, Head Monitoring and Information Management, Federal Project Support Unit, on Thursday in Kebbi State Capital.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officials of CSDP were in Kebbi for assessment and to get feedback on the impact of CSDP from the benefiting rural communities.
