World Bank-funded community projects, best initiative of FG- Kebbi Govt

The Kebbi State Government has identified the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP), initiated by the Federal Government with support from the World Bank, as one of the best projects in the state.
The Secretary to the Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Yauri, stated this when receiving the National Coordinator of CSDP, Dr Abdulkarim Obaje, in Birnin Kebbi
Obaje was represented by Mr Niyi Oduneye, the Head Monitoring and Information Management, Federal Project Support Unit, on Thursday in Kebbi State sapital.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officials of CSDP were in Kebbi for assessment and to get feedback on the impact of CSDP from the benefiting rural communities.
Kebbi State Government has reassured its citizens of their commitment to sustain transparency in governance.
The Permanent Secretary, Kebbi State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Aisha Muhammad stated this in Sokoto yesterday at a workshop organised in collaboration with OXFAM, European (EU) Development Exchange Center (DEC) and Open Government Partnership (OGP) Nigeria.
The permanent secretary said the government was willing to partner with any agency that could promote fiscal transparency in the state.
“Transparency and accountability in governance would give confidence to investors to invest in the state, we don’t have anything to hide, as our doors are open all the time,” she added.

The Kebbi State Government and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) are to continue to strengthened collaboration on production of biofuel and renewable energy.
Mr Yahaya Sarki, Adviser to Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi on Media, made this known in a statement made available to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
Sarki said the decision was reached when Bagudu paid a courtesy visit on the NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD), Malam Mele Kyari, in Abuja . x
He said the visit was to renew efforts toward strengthening the earlier collaboration on biofuel and renewable energy production in the state.
In his remark, the GMD reaffirmed the commitment of the NNPC to its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kebbi State on ethanol production.
