Five people are expected to appear in court on Monday after they were nabbed at the weekend for housebreaking, theft, being in possession of suspected stolen goods, drug related crimes and assault to cause grievance bodily harm.
A father of two, operating as an e-hailing taxi driver, was gunned down in New Brighton on Wednesday night, shortly after dropping off his passenger. Now New Brighton detectives are on the hunt for at least one suspect in connection with the shooting that claimed the life of Garrison Snayers, 30.

A Newton Park resident was stabbed several times on Sunday morning when two people broke into his home.
The man was later taken to hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
As a result of swift action from the police, two suspects, aged 17 and 19, were arrested while hiding in a house in Korsten.
They are expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court soon.

This comes after Kwazakhele’s visible policing unit arrested two suspects on Thursday for allegedly hijacking a taxi . Police spokesperson Capt Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the complainant had been driving his Suzuki Celerio down Mahambehlala Street in Kwazakhele, Port Elizabeth, at about 3.45pm and when he stopped, one of the suspects allegedly approached his vehicle and fiddled with the keys in the ignition.
