I am incredibly honored to have been elected to Milton Town Council. I had a lot of help along the way! Thank you to the following for their help:
• Voters (239) who had enough confidence to vote for me in the Milton Town Council election held March 6
• Councilman-elect John Collier and candidates Allen Sangree and Emory West for a clean, respectful election process
• Milton Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters, and Eagles Nest Church for hosting the candidate forum. I think it was critical this year given the pandemic and our inability to gather en masse for meet and greet sessions as we have in the past
Does anyone else find it ironic that the Delaware Division of Public Health and the media (including the Cape Gazette) are OK with calling the variants of the COVID-19 virus the “South African variant,” the “UK variant,” and the “Brazilian variant.

Incumbent Janis Hanwell and newcomer Ashley Murray will vie for the at-large seat in the Cape Henlopen school board election, set for Tuesday, May 11.
First elected in 2016, Hanwell said she is seeking re-election because she believes a free public education can and should level the playing field for all children to become successful, productive adults.
“I want to use my skills and experience to continue to support Cape in these efforts, and to make sure parents and staff have a voice in decisions that are made in the interests of their students and children,” she said.
Outdoor Home Expo seeks June 19-20 exhibitors

The Delaware Resorts 2021 Outdoor Home Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 19, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 20, at Hudson Fields on Route 1 just north of Lewes.
A wide array of exhibitors will present their home-related products and services over the two days. Admission and parking are free to the public.

In a March 3 email to parents, Delmarva Christian Head of School Matt Kwiatkowski urged them to oppose the Equality Act, which aims to prohibit discrimination based on sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
