Beverly Ann (Paschall) Norman was received into the church triumphant on April 27, 2021 in Weatherford, Texas. Memorial services for Beverly will be held Saturday, May 1, 3 p.m. at Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery in Parker County.
Beverly was born on March 5, 1936 to Kellis and Atrelle Paschall in the family home. Beverly was a graduate of Canton High School and attended Tyler Jr. College until she met the Assistant County Agent that had been assigned to Van Zandt County. Beverly and James Norman were united in Christian marriage on May 8, 1955 in Canton Texas. James preceded Beverly in death on March 28, 2013.

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – The shooting death of 16-year-old Lakendric Francis in Ridgeland has many left many unanswered questions. Francis, who was a junior at Canton High School, was killed Saturday on I-55 near Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland.
Police have ruled out road rage as a possible motive for the shooting. The suspect’s vehicle, a tan Chevy, was found in Jackson. The vehicle is now in possession of Ridgeland police.
Lt. Brian Meyers with the Ridgeland Police Department said the case is now attracting the attention of multiple agencies to help bring justice to Francis, whose life was taken too soon.

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – Ridgeland police have arrested two teens in connection to the shooting death of a 16-year-old Lakendric Cortez Francis. He was shot and killed Saturday on I-55 near Old Agency Road in Ridgeland.
Francis was on his way to get a haircut when the shooting took place. The police said it could have stemmed from a misunderstanding or argument that’s been ongoing.
15-year-old Marcus Luckett has been charged with murder and 16-year-old Kevin Harris has been charged with accessory after the fact.
According to school officials, Luckett is a ninth grader at Canton Ninth Grade Academy. Harris is enrolled in the online Penn Foster High School and Francis attended Canton High School.

CONNECTICUT A federal lawsuit filed last year on behalf of four teenage girls who claimed the allowance of transgender girls to compete in high school track and field events denied them opportunities for scholarships and awards was dismissed Sunday by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny.
The suit was filed in Feb. 2020 on behalf of Selina Soule, then a senior at Glastonbury High School; Chelsea Mitchell, then a senior at Canton High School; and Alanna Smith, then a sophomore at Danbury High School. After the filing, Ashley Nicoletti, then a sophomore at Immaculate High School in Danbury was added to the list of plaintiffs.
