Millennials return migration

CANTON Many business articles and research studies over the past decade have focused on why millennials flock to larger cities to live and work. Large cities and suburbs generally offer higher salaries, more opportunities for upward advancement, and a wide variety of retail shops, sporting events, and community activities. However, some current researchers believe they may be witnessing the beginnings of a trend shift represented by those millennials who return home to rural areas immediately following college graduation or return upon to pursue a second career, a trend referred to as return migration.
Discerning millennials consider several factors before returning to their birth places or hometowns. A United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) research article, entitled Why Some Return Home to Rural America and Why It Matters, indicates that a primary motivating factor for young professionals returning home is the desire for family

FAMILY My husband, Steve, and I have three adult children. Our oldest daughter and her husband are expecting their first child, our first grandchild, this spring. Our second daughter is engaged and is planning a summer wedding. Our son, the “baby,” is a college junior. We have one very spoiled rescue dog, Opie, and an 18-year-old American Quarter Horse mare named Skeeter.
WHAT SUBJECT DO YOU TEACH? I currently teach math and science to 9- and 10-year-olds in fourth grade. I have been teaching fourth grade at Jackson for 10 years. I was a reading tutor for two years prior to teaching full time at Jackson.

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that the last day to register to vote for the April 6th, 2021 Annual Town Election will be Wednesday, March 17th, 2021.

You may register to vote by appearing at Town Hall by appointment only, register to vote online through the Secretary of the Commonwealth s website, or you may request to have a Voter Registration Form mailed to you by calling the Clerk s office at 781-821-5013. Completed forms may be left in the payment drop box in front of Town Hall and must be received by March 17th or they may be returned by mail with a postmark no later than March 17th.
