PART of the A31 will be closed overnight for 11 weeks while Highways England installs a 50mph limit and road restrictions. A public notice confirmed the closure would come into place at the end of July between Palmersford Roundabout and Canford Bottom Roundabout. The notice said: “Notice is hereby given that Highways England intends to make an order on the A31 Trunk Road in the county of Dorset, under section 14(1)(a) of the road traffic regulation act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. “The effect of the order would be to authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the A31 between Palmersford Roundabout and Canford Bottom Roundabout, all slip roads leading to and from this length and all side roads at junction with this length.
Stapehill Road and Wimborne Road West junction looking towards Uddens Drive WIMBORNE Road West in Colehill will be closed overnight each evening from July 12 to the morning of July 16. This is to allow the re-surfacing of the road to be carried out, following the completion of the first sections of the new Leigh Road/Wimborne Road West cycle and pedestrian improvements. The overnight closures will be from 8pm in the evening until 6am the following morning. During this time, a diversion route through Colehill will be in place, which will take traffic along Canford Bottom, Middle Hill Road, Wimborne Road and Rowland’s Hill.
