Payment, commute & more: RWAs in Noida help the elderly get vaccine shots | Noida News

Representative image NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Some residents’ welfare associations in Noida have started helping the senior citizens in the city get vaccinated against Covid-19, a task that can be hard for the elderly who may face monetary, technological and commuting issues. The RWAs are not only helping the recipients register for the jab but also getting them to the nearest hospital for free. In some cases, the RWAs have started bearing the entire cost of paid vaccinations in private facilities. “We have compiled a list of over 50 senior citizens and those with comorbidities who live in blocks C, D, E and F. We will facilitate their vaccinations at Satya Medical Centre. All costs of the first dose will be borne by the RWA. The medical centre will depute a person to help with the registrations,” said Sanjeev Kumar, RWA general secretary, Sector 51.

Instead, the cameras were waiting for Disha Ravi, a nature-loving 22-year-old vegan climate activist who against all odds has found herself ensnared in an Orwellian legal saga that includes accusations of sedition, incitement and involvement in an international conspiracy whose elements include (but are not limited to): Indian farmers in revolt, the global pop star Rihanna, supposed plots against yoga and chai, Sikh separatism and Greta Thunberg.
