SOUTH BELOIT  When voters return to the polls next month, they will see a non-binding ballot question about open yard waste burning. The South Beloit City Council approved in November a 4-1 vote placing the advisory question on the April 6 election ballot. “A ‘yes’ vote would mean there would be no open burning,” Commissioner Ryan Adleman told the Register Star. “The next step for the city would be having to work with Rock River Disposal to dispose of yard waste with the garbage pickup.  “Because it’s an advisory (referendum) we don’t have it formally finalized, but I would imagine there would be costs involved, either on a sewer bill or with a yard waste bill to accommodate the pickup.”
