The Edwards County School District will conduct a pre-school round-up next month for children up to five years old who will not be eligible for kindergarten next year. For students in the Albion attendance area, the screening will be held on March 8
th from 8:30 to 2:30 at the First Christian Church. West Salem students will be screened on the 9
th from 8:30 to 2:30 at the Moravian Church. Appointments are required for the free program; Albion area residents can call 445-2325, and West Salem area residents should call 456-8881.

Currently the State of Illinois has reported a total of 1,052,682 cases. Of those, there have been 17,928 Confirmed Deaths and 1,796 Probable Deaths, with a total of 14,457,620 tests performed. Illinois current recovery rate is 98%. In Illinois Vaccination Data the state is reporting a total of 972,750 with a total of 414,296 doses administered. LTC allocated Doses stand at 268,525 with 51,891 having been administered to date. The vaccine administration 7-day rolling average is 26,703.
At this time Wayne Co is showing a total of 510 administered doses of the vaccine with 105 people having been fully vaccinated, or .64% of the county’s population.
