Flint Township police begin pilot program to raise presence in business district

Flint Township police begin pilot program to raise presence in business district Posted May 17, 2021 Facebook Share FLINT TOWNSHIP - Flint Township Police Department has begun performing it’s Public Safety Pilot Program, which seeks to give more presence to law enforcement in the township’s Downtown Development Authority district. Police in the DDA district will primarily have presence on Corunna Road, Miller Road, and Linden Road. The Public Safety Pilot Program was set to begin the weekend of April 17, but it got pushed back by a week. “That’s what the main thing is, to get more visibility for patrol,” Flint Township Police Chief Kevin Salter told MLive-The Flint Journal. “For the businesses to have more law enforcement presence in the area where they do more of the business checks, like walking in, and walking out of the businesses to see how things are going with the businesses and making sure that they know that the public knows that we’re out there.”
