KENYA: Chairman of Catholic Doctors Association, Dr Stephen Karanja Succumbs to Covid-19 By CISA NAIROBI, APRIL 30, 2021(CISA) – Dr Stephen Karanja an Obstetrician/ Gynecologist and Chairman of the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association (KCDA) is dead. Dr Karanja had been receiving treatment for Covid-19 related complications at the Mater hospital in Nairobi since April 20. “He had been admitted with Covid-19. There’s no official statement from the association as yet but I can confirm he died today (April 29),” Jacinta Mutegi, Executive Secretary of the Catholic Health Commission of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB)told Nation. Dr Karanja who was opposed to the mass vaccination against Covid-19, terming it “unnecessary” advised on alternative methods of tackling the disease rather than mass vaccinations.
