The late Chancellor and Dean, Pastor Parnel Randolph Campbell (PR, as he was affectionately called) had lived a life that touched the world and each of us in our own way. He lived a life in a class beyond compare, undeniably gifted and radical in his approach. His ubiquitous influence was felt by everyone in his family, in the Spiritual Baptist Archdiocese and the country at large. He was a distinguished statesman who had graced or brought dignity to every prominent platform in this country and beyond. Chief among them is the one and only “The Law and You” – a Public Service Programme established and presented by PR Campbell himself.

Crown director Harold Mitchell is leading the search for new board members at the casino giant despite the ad-man himself being under intense pressure to resign amid questions about his independence from major shareholder James Packer.
Three directors and Crownâs chief executive Ken Barton have left the James Packer-backed group since former Supreme Court judge Patricia Bergin last week found that it was unfit to hold a licence for its new Sydney casino, based on damning evidence it had facilitated money laundering and had been infiltrated by organised crime at its Melbourne and Perth casinos.

Thereâs a moment of overwhelming pathos in the picture of James Packer holed up in his Aspen mansion on Tuesday evening, reading Commissioner Patricia Bergin QCâs excoriating report from her casino inquiry that demolished his lifeâs work.
Itâs not just that Bergin clearly wants Packer out of Crown Resorts, where the 36.8 per cent stake held by Consolidated Press Holdings (CPH) makes him still the shareholder with the biggest voice. Itâs the ignominy of the proposed exit, the walk of shame, the rejection of the role that has for two decades defined him, that has to hurt.
