A renovated Perth home with a grisly past has sold for AU$425,000 (NZ$454,665) to a couple unfazed by its history. In the 1980s a series of murders and rapes of young women were committed at the home. They were known as the Moorhouse murders, after the street where the perpetrators lived.

The selling agent declared the background of the house to every interested party. David and Catherine Birnie committed several of their crimes at their house at 3 Moorhouse Street. David Birnie was found dead in prison in 2005, while Catherine Birnie remains in jail.
