The Big Fostering Partnership is already talking with other authorities from across the country who are interested in joining the partnership. DUDLEY Council has formed a new fostering partnership to help secure long term foster carers for children in care. The council has teamed up with Staffordshire County Council, National Fostering Group and Big Issue Invest to form ‘The Big Fostering Partnership’. The group will help find foster carers for children between the ages of seven and sixteen who are living in children’s homes. Once a young person has been identified, the partnership will use its national network of carers to find potential foster families.

Permits are free of charge from the local authority and legally allow children between 13 and 16 to undertake part-time work. The council is focusing on raising awareness virtually during Child Employment Week, which runs from today (Monday April 19) to Friday April 23. By law no child under 13 is allowed to be employed. Young people aged between 13 and 16 require a work permit to work on a part–time basis and/or during the school holidays. The legislation also includes limits on working hours and provides restrictions on the types of employment children can undertake.
