KENOSHA â Since his first appearance in court in 2019 to the moment he was sentenced Friday to spend the rest of his life in prison for murder, Edward Pendleton Jr. has loudly and insistently declared his innocence.
âI cannot understand why this is happening to me,â Pendleton said, declaring he was being railroaded. âI did not shoot this man. I am not a murderer. I have never shot a gun in my life.â
Pendleton, 59, was convicted by a jury in March of killing 42-year-old Marlon Allen of Kenosha in what prosecutors said was a botched drug robbery.
At his sentencing Friday, Pendleton continually interrupted Assistant District Attorney Drew Burgoyne as he made his recommendations on sentencing to Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder.

Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge
Bruce E. Schroeder has denied a motion requesting increased bond and a new arrest warrant for
Kyle Rittenhouse. Prosecutors made the request to increase his bail by $200,000 earlier this month after learning that Rittenhouse had moved to a new address without their knowledge. Schroeder ruled that Rittenhouse was in violation of not updating his address, but it was not enough of a reason to increase his bail. Moving forward, Rittenhouse s address will be made available to the court. If prosecutors wish to obtain the address, they will have to go through the sheriff s office. Ultimately, the judge claimed that he didn t issue a new arrest warrant because he believes that Rittenhouse did not violate Wisconsin law.
Attorneys say they were advised by law enforcement not to share where Rittenhouse would be living with court journaltimes.com - get the latest breaking news, showbiz & celebrity photos, sport news & rumours, viral videos and top stories from journaltimes.com Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers.

Kenosha News:
According to court documents, Kenosha County Assistant District Attorneys Thomas C. Binger and Jason R. Zapf filed the motion to increase bond before Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce E. Schroeder. The motion asks for an arrest warrant to be issued for Rittenhouse, charged in two homicides and another man who was shot during the civil unrest Aug. 25, along with an additional bond of $200,000. After his initial arrest, Rittenhouse was held in custody until he posted a $2 million bond Nov. 20. The motion states the bond listed his address as an apartment in Antioch, Ill., and specifically required him to give written notice to the Clerk of this Court within 48 hours of any change o
